CICS Northtown Academy Alumni Gathering

As part of a new Alumni Engagement Initiative at CICS Northtown Academy, the school hosted its first Alumni Gathering on May 23rd, 2014.  Close to 100 alumni returned to the halls of Northtown to visit with current students, staff, and network with one another.

The event included a panel discussion with current Northtown Academy 9th grade students and alumni.  During this portion of the day freshmen had the opportunity to prepare questions about college life, how to prepare for college during high school, and how to start thinking about college and life beyond high school.  The alumni responded with personal anecdotes, advice, and encouragement, including a charge to students to appreciate their time in high school.  All of the students and alumni benefited from these discussions and established connections about their similar high school experiences.

After the panel discussions, alumni were invited to enjoy food and catch up with their friends.  The day concluded with alumni participation in the spring sports pep rally in which a team of alumni defeated the CICS Northtown Academy staff in a spirited volleyball match.
