What is National School Choice Week?

"Held every January, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. The goal of National School Choice Week (NSCW) is to raise public awareness of all types of education options for children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling," explains NCSW. The organization encourages schools across the country to celebrate their ability to serve students with a variety of educational needs by holding rallies and school events throughout the week.

Throughout the month, CICS organized two legislator visits with Alderman David Moore at CICS Ralph Ellison and Alderman Gilbert Villegas at CICS West Belden. CICS Wrightwood showed their support of school choice by sharing a video of the National School Choice Week Dance, which they will also perform at an all-school assembly.
