Why did you choose to enroll your child at CICS-IP?
My husband and I were looking for the best option for our two children. Our neighborhood has great elementary schools, but we wanted options, a choice. We know of a few other families at CICS-IP and how much they loved it. So we started thinking our children should attend CICS-IP. We liked all the possibilities – at the time, it sounded like students here are being prepared for high school. After touring the Irving Park campus and understanding their personalized learning curriculum, we decided this was the best option for us and our children.
What attracted you to CICS-IP? What are some of the special attributes that made you choose your child’s school?
We definitely liked the innovative personalized learning option and CICS-IP’s student preparation for high school. I also liked the feeling I got from meeting the teachers and staff during the school tour.
Could you describe your experience as a parent at CICS-IP?
So far, I have enjoyed being a parent at this school. I have not met anyone that works at CICS-IP that is not friendly and caring for the students. It’s been very easy to interact with the teachers to find out how my kids are doing. In fact, I receive more information and feedback about my children than I expected. The teachers here make a huge effort in doing so!
What would you identify as a special or unique program at CICS-IP?
I think the most special program at CICS-IP is the specialized learning. I am impressed on the approach of how each child is taught and the fact that they can learn at their own pace and according to their own needs. Our children have been responding well to this.
What would you tell other parents who may be considering CICS-IP as a school option?
All parents should seriously consider this school. The environment is safe, warm and caring. It is also obvious the teachers and staff truly care about each student. I would think all types of students would do well here and the teachers are definitely here to help them achieve the best education possible.
Describe your engagement in your child’s school community.
I have been active parent in this school community. I have helped out in the classroom where needed, whether it be at special events, or managing school spirit week.
What is your greatest wish for your child(ren) at CICS IP?
I hope they are continuously challenged, reach their full potential, and are eventually prepared for high school. I also want them to make great friends.
Can you describe your child’s experience at CICS-IP?
Our two children have been thriving at CICS-IP. They both love going to school and being challenged every day. They also enjoy the extracurricular activities such as the winter concerts and PTO-sponsored events.
