Student Outcomes

At CICS, success is more than test scores—it’s about preparing scholars to thrive in high school, college, careers, and life. We measure our impact not only by academic achievement, but also by the confidence, curiosity, and resilience our students carry with them. We are proud of our consistently high performance across our schools, the growth our students achieve year after year, and the countless stories of graduates who go on to lead, serve, and succeed. These outcomes reflect the dedication of our educators, the strength of our families, and the promise of every CICS scholar.

    • This year, CICS Avalon scholars achieved the highest IAR math growth in all of Chicago.

    • In 2024, the University of Chicago’s 5Essentials Survey found CICS Bucktown, CICS Irving Park, CICS Northtown, and CICS West Belden to be “strong” on at least 3 of 5 essentials, meaning they are 10 times more likely to show substantial gains in student learning.

    • A 2023 Stanford CREDO study found that Illinois charter schools delivered the equivalent of 40 additional days of reading and 48 additional days of math learning, with ReGeneration Schools highlighted as a “gap-busting” network whose students achieved the state’s highest growth—equivalent to 87 extra days in math and 101 in reading.

    • In 2023, nearly 80 percent of CICS campuses outpaced average growth across Illinois.

    • Between 2014 and 2019, 6 of our 13 schools have received the highest Level 1+ SQRP rating, deemed by Chicago Public Schools as a “nationally competitive school with the opportunity to share best practices with others”.
